ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Portland Timbers selected senior midfielder Noel Caliskan with the 15th overall pick in the 2023 MLS Superdraft hosted by expansion club St. Louis City SC. Â

Caliskan is a two-time WCC Player of the Year, the inaugural Midfielder of the Year, three time All-WCC selection and helped the team capture the most recent WCC title for the Lions. Â

Caliskan scored nine times on the bluff, netting three times in each of the past three seasons. Heb also assisted 13 times throughout his career for a total of 31 points. Â

Caliskan's selection is the second consecutive year a Lion has gone in the first round, with goalkeeper Jacob Jackson going to the New England Revolution in the 2022 edition of the draft.Â
