ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Portland Timbers selected senior midfielder Noel Caliskan with the 15th overall pick in the 2023 MLS Superdraft hosted by expansion club St. Louis City SC.
Caliskan is a two-time WCC Player of the Year, the inaugural Midfielder of the Year, three time All-WCC selection and helped the team capture the most recent WCC title for the Lions.
Caliskan scored nine times on the bluff, netting three times in each of the past three seasons. Heb also assisted 13 times throughout his career for a total of 31 points.
Caliskan's selection is the second consecutive year a Lion has gone in the first round, with goalkeeper Jacob Jackson going to the New England Revolution in the 2022 edition of the draft.
