EUGENE, Ore. - The LMU volleyball team fell to No. 10 Oregon 3-0 on Friday night in the first round of the NCAA Volleyball Tournament in Eugene, Ore.Â
Â
Jacquelyn Moore produced seven kills on .583 hitting to pace the Lions. Phoebe Aloweye chipped in 10 kills on .350 hitting and 4 blocks.Â
Â
The first set started off with a Mary Shroll service ace, it would be her first of two aces in the match. From there, the Lions took three of the first four points before the Ducks won six straight points. The Lions battled and closed the gap to 10-7 on an Oregon attacking error but could not get any closer. The set ended with a 25-17 advantage to the Ducks.Â
Â
The Ducks took four of the first five points in the second set before the Lions stormed back to knot the match at five on an Aloweye kill. The Lions would take the lead a point later on a
Kari Geissberger ace. The Lions won four in a row with the Ducks on set point to force a timeout, but Oregon recovered to take the second set 25-22.Â
Â
Shroll started the third set off the same way she led off the first: with an ace. From there, both teams traded points regularly. The third set was tied at four, five, six and ten before the Ducks went on a little run. The Lions would not be able to recover, with Oregon winning the third 25-15. Â

Â
LMU finishes the season with an 18-10 record and their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2018. Head coach
