Box Score Los Angeles, Calif. – Lions picked up their second straight West Coast Conference victory at home, as they control the Gaels 73-62.
Lions took the momentum from the previous conference game into this match with the Gaels, as
Ariel Johnson got going early 3-3 from the field.
The first quarter was very tight as both teams were able to produce on offense, with the score being 15-14 at the end.
The beginning of the second half started with
Ariel Johnson adding to her excellent performance this week. Shooting light out from the field at 92% with 16 points.
The team collectively played great defense in the first half, holding the Gaels to just 23 points. The Lions were able to collect 2 blocks and 4 steals, heading in the locker room with a 10-point advantage.
Lions were phenomenal in the third quarter, as the team started to pull away from the Gaels.
Alexis Mark and
Cassandra Gordon were on fire. Gordon scored 7 points in the third quarter to give the Lions the 9-point edge to start the fourth.
The fourth quarter was all
Ariel Johnson as she posted 13 points, leading the way.
Nicole Rodriguez also stepped up big for the Lions to close out the conference match.
Johnson reached her career high 30 points in today's match with the Gaels.
This is LMU's second conference win and second straight victory this week. The Lions are looking to keep the momentum going for the rest of WCC play.
They got 53% from the field and 50% from the perimeter, while grabbing a combined 25 rebounds.

Nicole Rodriguez finished the game with 13 points, while
Khari Clark finished with 8.
