Men's Basketball

Lions Open WCC Play Thursday at San Francisco on CBS Sports Network

LOS ANGELES – Conference play is officially on the horizon as LMU men's basketball is set to open West Coast Conference action on the road this Thursday. The Lions will travel to San Francisco for an 8:00 PM game broadcasted on CBS Sports Network.

The Lions, who have been away from game action since defeating Bellarmine on the road back on December 21 to close out the non-conference portion of the schedule, will end up playing five WCC games in a 10-day span.

In the shortened 2020-21 season, LMU played and defeated San Francisco three times in as many games. The Lions opened conference play against the Dons last season as well, and advanced in the WCC Tournament after defeating USF in Las Vegas last mark.

The three matchups between the two programs were all single digit victories for LMU, including the game at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center, in which the Lions only used six available players to earn the win.

Eli Scott was a major factor in those three wins en route to his First Team All-WCC selection. The Chino Hills, Calif., native averaged a double-double against San Francisco with 20.7 points per game, 10.0 rebounds per game, and 4.7 assists per game.

San Francisco has started a special season on the Hilltop, posting an early 14-2 record with a 34 NET Ranking. Like Scott for LMU, Jamaree Bouyea decided to return to campus for his fifth year and is leading his team in his bonus season. Bouyea scored double digits in all three games against the Lions including a 33-point performance in the game at War Memorial on Feb. 21, 2021.

The game will also be broadcasted on radio on KXLU 88.9.
