LOS ANGELES – The No. 10 Loyola Marymount University Lions (5-0-2, 4-0-2 WCC) head north to Moraga, California for a battle with No. 23 Saint Mary's in a match that could determine the winner of the West Coast Conference and automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
The Lions enter the weekend undefeated and a game better in the win column, overall and in conference, then the Gaels. A result against Saint Mary's would produce the Lions first conference championships since 2013 and third in Head Coach
Paul Krumpe's tenure at LMU. A victory would also cement the Lions inclusion into the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season.
LMU continues to get contributions on both sides of the ball while
Jacob Jackson remains dominant in net. Jackson has six shutouts in seven games played this year and his goals against average of 0.134 is tops in the WCC and second best in the nation. His save percentage of 0.923 is first in the conference and sixth in the nation while his 670 minutes played in goal is third best in the WCC.
As a team, the Lions dominance on defense has them first in the conference in save percentage, shutout percentage, and team goals against average. Additionally, LMU's goal differential of seven is third best in the WCC. On the offensive end they are outshooting their opponents 116-55 and putting the ball on goal at 52-14.
LMU's
Ronaldo Brown has been an offensive spark this season. He leads the team in shots with 29 while his shots per game average of 4.14 is tops in the WCC. Brown is also third best in the conference in shots on goal per game at 1.43
