LOS ANGELES – The Loyola Marymount University softball team will take its second conference road trip of the season this weekend, as the team will head up to Stockton, Calif. for a three-game series against the Pacific Tigers.
The Lions head into this weekend's series coming off of a series sweep against San Diego, where LMU had a 4-2 win, a 7-4 win and a 2-0 shutout.
Marina Vitalich had an impressive weekend, earning her third Pitcher of the Week honor of the season after she went 2-0 on the weekend and had a stellar 1.29 earned run average after pitching 14.0 total innings.
LMU is currently second in the West Coast Conference with a 5-1 WCC record. The Lions fall short of first place to BYU , which has a 5-0 record. Pacific is third in the conference with a 3-3 record. The Tigers won their last game against Santa Clara 10-0.
Vitalich is fourth in the conference in earned run average and in conference wins, with 2.30 and five. She also has 63 strikeouts in conference play, landing her at No. 3.
Morgan DeBord leads the team in batting average, with 3.22, while
Desiree Moreno leads the team in RBIs with 19.
The Lions will kick off their series against Pacific on Saturday at 2:30 PM, and will start the second one around 4:30. The teams will conclude the series on Sunday at noon.
