EUGENE, Ore., -- The Loyola Marymount University softball team closed out its series against the No. 3 University of Oregon Ducks on Saturday, putting up six hits, but then falling to the Ducks 6-0.
The teams opened game three to a slow start, as neither team scored until the Ducks made noise in the bottom of the third with six runs. Both teams went quietly for the remainder of the game.
The Lions had one hit in all innings except for the first, while the Ducks had nine total hits.
Desiree Moreno went 2-3 at the plate, while
Molly Grumbo went 1-2 and Taylor Keintah went 2-4.

Alyssa Daniell led in putouts with four each.
Marina Vitalich pitched 2.2 innings and picked up the loss. She allowed six hits, five runs and had two strikeouts.
Paulina Johnson pitched 0.1 innings, allowing one hit and one run, while
Alessandra Samperio pitched 3.0 innings and allowed two hits and zero runs.
The Lions will be back in action next week to take on Cal Baptist in a double-header on March 31.
