LOS ANGELES – The Loyola Marymount University women's basketball team will head south to play University of San Diego on Thursday evening.
This will be the first time the Lions have met with the Toreros this season, as the teams had to postpone their first meeting in Gersten Pavilion. The Lions will head to San Diego coming off of a loss against University of San Francisco at home.
Despite the 84-66 loss to the Dons, Cassie Gordon earned her first career double-double, scoring 10 points and pulling 10 rebounds.
Chelsey Gipson led the team in points with 16.
The Lions currently lead the West Coast Conference in blocked shots, averaging 4.86 per game.
Meghan Mandel has led the Lions to their No. 1 spot, as she holds down the No. 1 spot in the conference for individual blocked shots, averaging 2.71 per game, while
Khari Clark sits at the No. 3 spot, averaging 1.07 per game.
The Toreros are 6-4 on the season and 3-2 in conference play. USD won their last match against Portland, 69-62.
Tip-off will be at 6:00 PM in San Diego, Calif.
