Lions Continue on the Road, Face Tulsa on ESPNU

LOS ANGELES – Fresh off its first away game and road win of the season, LMU men's basketball flies to the central time zone for the first time this year to play Tuesday night at Tulsa. The game will be played at 8:00 PM CT (6:00 PM PT) and air nationally on ESPNU.

The Lions will be looking for their first ever win over the Hurricane, coming up short in the previous four matchups. LMU last met for a home-and-home series in the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons.

The matchup will feature a Tulsa team that rarely fouls (38th in the country at 14.2 fouls per game) against an LMU squad that ranks 67th in the country with 124 made free throws. The Lions are shooting over 75 percent from the line this year, which ranks 54th in Division I. Joe Quintana ranks third individually in the NCAA having made 28 of 29 attempts from the stripe this year (96.6 percent).

Eli Scott posted a near-triple double in Saturday's win over Long Beach State. Already the only player in school history to record that feat Scott scored 12 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out seven assists in LMU's first road game of the season. Scott's triple-double against Grambling, where he put up 21, 13, and 13, came exactly two years to the day of Tuesday night's game. His double-double from Saturday is his second of the season and 23rd of his career.

LMU already picked up one win against the American Conference this season. In the Jacksonville Classic earlier this season, the Lions erased a 17-point deficit to defeat SMU in the second game of the tournament. Four players scored in double figures in the win, as LMU shot 52.7 percent from the field and a perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line. The Lions have shot over field percent from the field in three of eight games this season.

In addition to the ESPNU feed, KXLU 88.9 will broadcast the audio of the game on radio.
