Regular Season Opens Tuesday as Lions Host Mocs at Home

LOS ANGELES – The 2021-22 men's basketball season has finally arrived. The bright lights of Gersten Pavilion and the roar of the home crowd will be in full effect on Tuesday night as LMU hosts Chattanooga in the season opener for a 7:00 PM game.

The Lions, fresh off an exhibition win over UC San Diego on Friday night host a contender in the first game that counts. The Mocs posted an 18-8 record a year ago, the second-best win percentage of the 10 Southern Conference teams.

LMU is also looking to build on a strong season in 2020-21 and brings back the roster poised to do so. Last season, the Lions clinched a winning record in conference for the first time since the 2011-12 season and clinched a top-three record in the WCC for the first time since 2005-06.

Not including this year's freshman class and the players who did not play last season, the players on this year's roster scored 107.9 points per game last season, including five players in double digits and seven players above 9.3 points.

Eli Scott returns for his fifth year as an All-WCC First Team performer and member of the preseason All-WCC team. Scott averaged 19.2 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per game over the course of last season.

Tickets are available on LMULions.com and through the AXS app. The game will be available to stream on the WCC Network.
