LOS ANGELES – For the first time since February 2020, the LMU women's basketball will play home games in front of fans at Gersten Pavilion. The return of the Lions also marks the regular season home debut of first-year Head Coach
Aarika Hughes.
The Lions host the LMU Thanksgiving Classic, an annual four-team tournament held the Friday and Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend on The Bluff. This year's field includes the host Lions, Memphis, Penn, and UC San Diego. Game will be played at 1:00 PM and 3:30 PM both days, with day ticket passes available for both games each day. The first game of each session will include the Lions, with the second game of the day featuring the two remaining teams.
Memphis is 4-1 to open the season and UC San Diego is 2-2.
LMU enters the weekend tournament coming off a road win at Utah State, the first win of Hughes' career. In her only other experience coaching at home, LMU beat Biola in an early season exhibition game.
Tickets for each day's sessions are available online. The two games featuring LMU will be broadcasted on the WCC Network. All four games will have live stats available.
