JACKSONVILLE, FL. – Following an overtime session in the second game of the Duval Bracket, LMU learned that Monday's opponent for the consolation game of the Jacksonville Classic by Fabletics will be the SMU Mustangs. The game will be played at 6:00 PM EST (3:00 PM PST).
SMU and Missouri followed LMU's game against Florida State. After the Mustangs led by 11 at halftime, the Tigers climbed back and forced overtime. Kendric Davis hit three of his game-high 29 points to make it a one-possession game with five seconds left in the extra session. SMU shot 80 percent in the overtime period, despite being outscored by five after regulation.
Mizzou then hit their free throws to take the game and advance to face Florida State in Monday's finale.
Davis not only scored 29 on 10-for-15 shooting but enters Monday ranked 17
th in the nation at 6.0 assists per game. The senior was the only player in the country to lead his conference in scoring and assists last year.
Joe Quintana led the Lions in scoring for the third-straight game. Despite Quintana being the only player to hit double figures on Sunday, four Lions are averaging 10.0 points or more this season. Quintana is hitting .500 percent from both the field (22-for-44) and from three (18-for-36) on the year.
