STOCKTON, Calif. – LMU women's volleyball took care of Pacific in five sets after winning the opening two games and closing out the Tigers in the fifth set. The Lions moved to 14-2 overall and 5-1 in the WCC with the 25-21, 25-21, 12-25, 21-25, 15-8 victory.

Pacific took a 9-6 lead in the first game after rattling off four consecutive points. LMU answered with three-straight of their own to even things at 9-all. With the score tied at 11-11,
Kari Geissberger recorded a kill to start a 3-0 run that would give LMU the lead for the remainder of the set. The Lions used a second 3-0 stretch to push the lead to 18-13, before ultimately closing out the set, 25-21.

LMU fell behind early in the second set 9-5 and 10-6 but took the lead with a 7-1 run capped by an ace from
Mary Shroll to give LMU the 17-13 edge. Pacific would pull within one a few times down the stretch but would not pull ahead as LMU took the set, 25-21.

A 10-0 run by Pacific set the tone in the middle of the third set, pushing the Tigers ahead 16-5, before the home side closed it out 25-12.

Megan Rice serving, LMU started with a 3-1 lead in the fourth set, which held until Pacific tied the score at 8-all. The Tigers would score five unanswered point to take a 13-9 lead and despite LMU fighting off two set points, the game would go onto a fifth and final set.

Pacific jumped ahead 3-1, but LMU scored the next three to take a lead for the first time in the set. With the Lions leading 8-7, LMU scored five consecutive points punctuated by the service ace from
Isabella Bareford. The finish to the match would finish with LMU claiming seven of the final eight points and claiming an undefeated road trip.

Audrey Klemp led the Lions with 13 kills.
Isabella Bareford recorded a double-double with 35 assists and 10 digs.
Mary Shroll added 10 digs of her own as well.

The Lions return to the Bluff for two home games this upcoming week, hosting BYU on Thursday then San Diego on Saturday.
