LOS ANGELES – LMU women's soccer found themselves in an uphill battle on Saturday afternoon, facing the sixth-ranked team in the country. The Lions were unable to get a goal in, falling to the PCH Cup rival Pepperdine, 3-0.
Pepperdine outshot the Lions 22-3 on the day, with a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
The Waves scored first half goals in the 18
th and 36
th minute, then added a third 55 minutes into the game.
Two of LMU's three shots were on target, with both
Mia Villegas and
Makiya Christensen forcing Pepperdine's goalkeeper to make a save.
The Lions travel to San Diego for a Friday game next week.
