Portland, Ore. - LMU women's volleyball rallied back after losing the first set to defeat Portland in four on Thursday night, 17-25, 25-17, 25-15, 25-17.

Jacquelyn Moore put LMU ahead in the first set, 3-1, before Portland rattled off six unanswered points. The Lions responded with the next four to tie the score at 7-all. LMU held an 11-10 lead before the Pilots used another big run of five unanswered to take a four-point advantage. Portland would close the set and take the 1-0 advantage over the Lions.

The Pilots opened the second set with the first four points and seven of the first eight to take 7-1 lead. LMU climbed back into it with the next five points to cut the deficit within one. After tying the game at 8-8, LMU took an 11-9 lead and forced a timeout by Portland. LMU broke the set open scoring nine of the final twelve points to even the match.

The third set opened with tie scores at each point from 1-all through 6-all.
Isabella Bareford recorded a service ace to push LMU ahead 8-6. The Lions would extend the lead to 10-7, 12-8, and 16-10 on back-to-back service aces from
Ella Boehle. With Bareford back at the service line, LMU scored five unanswered to make it a double-digit lead at 23-13, before LMU closed it out. Both Boehle and Bareford led the team with four aces apiece.

Similar to the previous set, the fourth set had multiple ties to open the final game. Boehle recorded consecutive aces to unbreak a 12-12 tie and give the Lions a 15-12 lead heading into a called UP timeout. Portland brought the score within one, but LMU closed out the set with nine of the final 11 points to clinch the win.

Kari Geissberger led all players with 22 kills on 30 attacks for a .633 hitting percentage. Bareford recorded a game-high 47 assists and
Mary Shroll led the Lions with 12 digs.

LMU totaled 13 service aces as Shroll added three to the four from Bareford and Boehle.
