Loyola Marymount University will welcome James Batley as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development. As the lead fundraising officer for university athletics, Batley is charged with creating and implementing a comprehensive program to engage alumni, parents, friends, community members, business and civic leaders to achieve the philanthropic goals of the university.
"James is a proven fundraiser, having worked at some of the top universities in the country," said Athletic Director
Craig Pintens. "His insight and energy will add another dimension to our department, and as a former Division I student-athlete, he naturally prioritizes the student-athlete experience."
Batley most recently served at San Diego State University as the Assistant Athletic Director of Development for Major Gifts. He also held development positions within athletic departments at the University of Oregon, Temple University, Oklahoma State University, and the University of Tennessee. Batley has worked professionally in the athletic department at the University of Kentucky, as well.
"I am honored to help shape the student-athlete experience by helping build meaningful relationships and strategy in support of LMU Athletics," said Batley.
Batley will report to University Advancement and serve on the LMU Athletics senior leadership team. LMU welcomes James, his wife, Kelly, and their daughter, Lily, to the Pride. He begins his work on January 11, 2021.
