LOS ANGELES – The Loyola Marymount University women's basketball team (1-6, 0-2 WCC) will take its first conference road trip of the season this week, as the team will head north to play Santa Clara and University of San Francisco.
The Lions opened conference play at home against No. 23. Gonzaga and West Coast Conference Champions Portland. LMU held two close games, as the team lost by just one possession against the ranked Bulldogs, and fell to Portland just 58-53.
Ariel Johnson had a standout performance in both games last week, as she had a double-double against Portland and scored 16 points against Gonzaga.
The Lions will kick off their first conference road trip against Santa Clara. With regulations in place in Santa Clara County, the Lions and the Broncos will meet in Santa Cruz, Calif., at Kaiser Permanente Arena.
The Broncos are 5-3 on the season and 1-1 in conference play, coming off of a win over San Diego and a loss to BYU. Last season, the Lions went 1-1 with the Broncos, both teams winning on their home floor. The Lions are 28-49 all-time.
Tip-off will be at 6:00 PM PST in Kaiser Permanente Area. Spectators will not be allowed.
