Scott Closes Season with Double-Double as Lions Fall in WCC Second Round

LAS VEGAS – Eli Scott recorded his seventh double-double of the season in LMU's second round loss in Friday night's WCC Tournament. The Lions (11-21) saw their year come to a close with an 82-53 loss to San Francisco (21-11). Scott moved into the top-10 all-time with 14 career double-doubles.

Scott opened the game with a layup as one of LMU's two leads of the game. After falling behind 4-2, Seikou Sisoho Jawara knocked down a three for the one-point advantage with 17:53 to play. USF went on a 7-0 run from that point, and despite a three by Scott to end the run that was the closest the team would get the rest of the game, as the Dons followed with 10 unanswered.

Jordan Bell went on a personal 6-0 run to bring it back within single digits, 23-16, with 6:41 to play in the half. USF extended their lead to 39-26 going into halftime. Bell finished with eight points.

Scott scored the first 10 LMU points of the second half, including a putback dunk to cut the score to 11 two minutes into the half. That was the closest the Lions would get as USF pulled away late in the game.

Keli Leaupepe made seven more free throws in the game, putting him at a perfect 20-for-20 for the tournament. The freshman finished with 12 points. LMU's top two free throw shooting games of the season came on back-to-back nights in this tournament. The Lions followed their 87.5 percent night from the free throw line on Thursday with a 81.3 percent (13-for-16) clip from the line on Friday.

LMU's one senior, Erik Johansson, will graduate with the fifth-most games played as a Lion. Johansson played 105 games in his four-year career.
