Lions Travel to Spokane to Face Nation’s Top Scoring Offense, #2 Gonzaga

LOS ANGELES - LMU men's basketball (8-15, 2-7 WCC) plays just one game this week, a showdown in McCarthey Events Center against #2 Gonzaga (23-1, 9-0 WCC). The two teams will meet on Thursday night for an 8 p.m. contest on CBS Sports Network.
 
Gonzaga has not lost in West Coast Conference play this season, and despite being the nation's top-ranked team in the first meeting between these two school, rank second in the polls enter Thursday's contest. The Bulldogs lead the country in both scoring offense at 88.6 points per game and scoring margin at 21.5, even though Gonzaga is coming off a four-point win in their last outing, Saturday at San Francisco.
 
Defensively, Gonzaga and LMU rank third and fourth in the conference in points allowed, at 67.2 and 67.8, respectively.
 
The game features the top-two field goal percentage shooters in the WCC this season. Filip Petrusev is shooting 56.4 percent on the season and Eli Scott is making 43.2 percent of his attempts from the field.
 
With two assists in the game, Scott will become LMU's 17th player all-time to hit the 250-career assist milestone. The junior has already surpassed 100 assists on the season, and his 4.7 assists per game rank third in the conference.

LMU will not play on Saturday, and resume the season the following Thursday for an ESPN2 or ESPNU broadcasted game against BYU from Gersten Pavilion.
