PROVO, UT., -- The Loyola Marymount University women's basketball team played a tight game against BYU on Saturday, as the team was neck and neck all first quarter, and then came back to take the lead third quarter. The Lions fell short in their last regular season road game, losing to the Cougars 57-42. 
 
BYU made the first basket of the game, but then Naomi was quickly fouled and went to the line, giving the Lions a one-point lead. The Cougars responded and took their lead back. The Lions went on an 8-0 run to take their lead back, but BYU made a jumper, and then a free throw with just a second left. The Lions closed out the first down 19-18. 
 
The Cougars got away from the Lions in the second, as BYU went on a 12-2 run, and outscored LMU 12-5. The Lions left the half down 31-23.
 
LMU bounced back in the third, opening up the quarter with a 10-1 run to take a one-point lead. The Cougars answered back, taking the lead back and closing out the third on top 42-36. 
 
The Lions weren't able to reclaim their lead in the fourth, as BYU outscored LMU 15-6, closing out the last regular game of the season with a 57-42 loss. 
 
CiCi Ellington led the team in points with 13, while Jasmine Jones and Naomi Yim had nine a piece. Jones led the team in rebounds with 10, while Khari Clark had seven. 
 
LMU shot 29.41 percent from the field, 22.4 percent from behind the arch and 61.9 percent from the free throw line.
