LOS ANGELES – The Loyola Marymount University women's basketball team will be back in Gersten Pavilion this weekend for their Pride in Pink game and for Senior Day.
The Lions dropped their last game against rival Pepperdine 77-66.
Chelsey Gipson is leading the Lions in scoring, as the junior has a total of 328 points this season, which lands her at the No. 6 spot in the conference for conference scoring. Gipson is also eighth in conference steals with 24.
Jasmine Jones leads the team in rebounds with 190 and is fifth in the conference. Jones is third in the WCC in double-doubles, as the junior earned her eighth last week against Pepperdine. CiCi Ellington is first on the team in assists and 11
thin the conference, the freshman has collected 81 this season.
The Lions will host Portland on Thursday, and Gonzaga on Saturday. This will be the second time this season the Lions have met with both teams, as LMU lost against the Pilots 74-49 on the road, and then to the Bulldogs 78-52.
The Lions will host the Bulldogs on Thursday night in Gersten Pavilion, which will also be recognized as their Pride in Pink night for breast cancer awareness.
LMU will be back in Gersten on Saturday for Senior Day, where the team will honor the Lions' one senior,
Raychel Stanley against Portland at 2:00 PM.
