LOS ANGELES – The Loyola Marymount University softball team (5-6) will host three teams in its home opener for week one of the LMU Tournament at Smith Field this week. 
 
The Lions will be hosting Sacramento State, Quinnipiac University and Delaware this weekend to kick of week one of two of the tournament. LMU will play in five games over three days, while there will be five neutral games. 
 
The Lions will head into their home opener coming off of a road loss to San Diego State University on Tuesday and a 3-2 weekend at the Golden State Plus 27 Tournament, as LMU beat Sacramento State, Seaton Hall and Hawaii. 
 
LMU will kick off the tournament against Sacramento State on Friday morning at 8:00 AM, and will then play Quinnipiac University right after. 
 
The Lions will pick back up on Saturday to take on Quinnipiac and Delaware, and will conclude the tournament on Sunday against Delaware. 
 
This will be the second time this season that the Lions have met with Sacramento State. In the teams' last meeting, the Lions beat the Hornets 6-4, advancing the all-time record to 27-24 over Sacramento State. 
 
The last time LMU took on Quinnipiac was in 2013, where the Lions won 5-4, advancing their overall record 4-1. This will be the first time in program history the Lions have met with Delaware. 
 
 
Ticket Information 
The LMU Tournament will take place starting February 21-23 and March 12-17 at Smith Field. Tickets will be required for all games during the tournament and can be purchased on game day at the LMU Ticket Office.
 
LMU will be hosting Sacramento State, Quinnipiac University and Delaware the first weekend of the tournament. The Lions' first game of the tournament will be against Sacramento State on Friday, February 21 at 8am. The tournament will conclude with LMU vs. Delaware on Sunday at 10:15 am. 
 
The second weekend of the tournament features matchups against UC Santa Barbara, Idaho State, Iowa State, Depaul, Wagner, North Dakota State and Harvard. LMU will take UCSB on Thursday at 12:15 pm to open the tournament, and conclude the homestand against Harvard on Tuesday, March 17 at 2:30pm.
