Following First Road Win, Lions Travel to Saint Mary’s and Portland

LOS ANGELES - LMU men's basketball (9-17, 3-9 WCC) continues its longest road stretch of conference play with two away games this week. The Lions picked up a win at Santa Clara to start the trip last Saturday, and have Saint Mary's on deck Thursday night at 8 p.m.

The two teams met in Los Angeles on Jan. 25, with SMC winning the first half, but LMU outscoring the Gaels by double-figures after intermission. Saint Mary's won the game by 11, despite LMU's comeback attempt cutting the score to single digits in the second half.

Saint Mary's leads the West Coast Conference with a league-low 10.2 turnovers per game, but it was the Lions who won the turnover battle in the first meeting, 12-13.

The key players of each team, Saint Mary's Jordan Ford and LMU's Eli Scott should be on the court together for much of the game. The pair rank first and third, respectively, in minutes per game in the WCC.

This will be LMU's first trip to Moraga since Dec. 28, 2017. Due to the WCC's 16-game schedule, the Lions did not play Saint Mary's on the road last season. The Gaels are coming off a home win over Pacific last Saturday.

The game will air on CBS Sports Network. Live Stats will be run through Sidearm Stats on Saint Mary's website. Jesse Kass can be heard on KXLU 88.9 FM and TuneIN Radio.

LMU will continue north after the game, for Saturday's game at Portland.
