LOS ANGELES – The Loyola Marymount University softball team will participate in its second tournament of the season this weekend, as the Lions will head down to the Golden State Plus 27 Tournament in Lake Elsinore, Calif.
The Lions will head into this week's games coming off of a 2-3 weekend at the Cal State Fullerton Titan Classic, where the team beat San Jose State University and Middle Tennessee, and fell to Utah State University, UC Riverside and Cal State Fullerton.

Molly Grumbo, who was named WCC Player of the week after hitting .529 and hitting two home runs and tallying five RBIs.
Linnay led the Lions in pitching over the weekend, as she pitched a total of 7.2 innings and had a 2.74 ERA.
The Lions will take on Sacramento State and UC Davis on Friday, Seaton Hall and Long Island University on Saturday and Hawaii on Sunday.
The Lions are 26-24 against Sacramento State and last played against the Hornets in 2019, where LMU got swept 3-0. The last time LMU met with UC Davis was in 2012 where the Lions beat the Aggies, advancing to a 4-1 overall record.
This will be the first time the Lions will meet with Seaton Hall. LMU is 2-0 against Long Island University and 9-34 against Hawaii. The last time LMU met with the Rainbow Warriors was in
2018, when the Lions swept Hawaii.
