LOS ANGELES –After an off season of much anticipation, the Loyola Marymount University women's basketball team will finally play its first game of the season this Wednesday at the University of Southern California.  
 
LMU opens up its season with crosstown opponents, USC coming off of a 7-25 season, while going 3-16 in conference play. 
 
LMU returns nine players, including sophomore Ciera Ellington who was named to the West Coast Conference All-Freshman Team, senior Chelsey Gipson who led the team in points with 328 and senior Jasmine Jones led the team in rebounds with 226.
 
The Lions are excited to debut standout freshman, Nicole Rodriguez and sophomore Natalia Klimek, who sat out her freshman season. 
 
The Trojans hold a 4-0 record over the Lions, while their last meeting was in 2017 in Gersten Pavilion. The Trojans closed out their 2019-20 season 17-14 overall, with an 8-10 conference record. 
 
Tip-off will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday November 25 at the Galen Center in Los Angeles. No fans will be in attendance due to COVID-19 restrictions.
