LOS ANGELES – Wednesday's National Signing Day was a booming success for LMU Men's Basketball and Head Coach
Stan Johnson. The Lions signed three Los Angeles County based high school seniors, David Elliott IV, Lamaj Lewis, and James Nobles Jr., who will join the Lions for the 2021-22 school year and season.
Both Elliott and Nobles have familiarity with one another after playing their high school ball as teammates at Birmingham Community Charter High School in Van Nuys, Calif. Lewis comes to the Bluff from Bellflower, Calif. and St. John Bosco High School.
David Elliott IV
An All-LA City Section and All-City Open Division selections , Elliott averaged 17 points per game and shot 45 percent from the field. Elliott is a combo guard with a reputation as a very good scorer. He is known as a three-level scorer. He has excellent range on his three-point shot and can beat defenders off the dribble to shoot the mid-range pul up or finish at the rim. He has developed both his ball-handling and passing skills. He has the ability to play both on and off the ball.
Lamaj Lewis
Lewis earned his spot as a First Team All-Trinity League selection and Second Team CIF after averaging double-digits while playing for St. John Bosco. Lewis is a big guard with promising upside. He is very skilled and smooth. With his size and skill set, Lewis will be a match-up nightmare. He is an unselfish player who is always looking to get his teammates involved. He has the ability to make his teammates better.
James Nobles
Nobles shot 53 percent from the field last year and averaged over 10 points per game for Birmingham. Nobles is an elite athlete with great size, length, and quickness for his position. Nobles has a very good three-point shooting stroke and can pass the ball well. Because of his length and quickness, Nobles has potential to be a great defender. He has great upside and is an excellent student with interest in the sciences.

th nationally in the site's team rankings. The rankings are ordered based on the site's recruiting points with LMU accumulating 43.16 points based on three commits this year.
