LOS ANGELES - LMU returns to the Bluff following a week away to host a pair of West Coast Conference games. The action begins on Thursday night with the Lions (7-12, 1-4 WCC) and Portland Pilots (9-11, 1-4 WCC) each looking to earn their second conference win of the season.
Both teams earned home wins on Jan. 4, with LMU defeating San Diego and Portland topping San Francisco, but are still looking for that next conference win. The Pilots have already surpassed last year's win totals both overall and in conference. In 2018-19, UP finished with seven total wins, a mark that this year's team surpassed in mid-December.
Last week,
Jordan Bell, became the third Lion to record a double-double this season. His 14 point and 13 rebound performance joins him with
Eli Scott and
Ivan Alipiev to record a double-double on the year. Scott has four double-doubles this season, and 11 on his career to move into a tie for 13th all-time in program history. His next recorded double-double will move the junior into a tie with Richard Dixon and Bo Kimble.
Senior
Erik Johansson has knocked down 98 career three pointers and is two triples away from 100 on his career. 18 different Lions have hit 100 or more threes in their careers.
LMU will be celebrating the Lunar New Year with a halftime dance performance and shirts for fans.
The game will stream on WCC Network out-of-market. Live Stats will be run through Statbroadcast. Jesse Kass can be heard on KXLU 88.9 FM and TuneIN Radio.
