LOS ANGELES – The Loyola Marymount University women's basketball team will take its first conference road trip of the season this week, as the team will head north to take on University of the Pacific and Saint Mary's.
The Lions will head into this weeks' games coming off of tough losses to BYU and San Diego, putting them at 0-2 in the West Coast Conference.
Jasmine Jones has led the Lions this season, as the junior is fourth in the conference in rebounds and second in the conference in double-doubles.
Chelsey Gipson leads the team in points with 154, averaging 11 per game. Gipson is also 10
thin the conference in steals, averaging 1.7 per game.
LMU leads the conference in offensive rebounding, with 648 on the season and is third in the conference in blocked shots with 71.
The Lions will take on Pacific on Thursday at 7:00 PM. Last season, the Lions had a 1-1 split against the Tigers, winning on the road in Stocking, and then falling at home in Gersten Pavilion. The Lions are 6-5 against the Tigers all time. Pacific is currently fourth in the conference.
LMU will pick back up on Saturday to take on Saint Mary's. The Lions are 20-48 against the Gaels all-time and split against SMC last season, winning at home, and losing to the Gales on the road.
The Lions will tip-off on Thursday at 7:00 PM in Stockton, Calif.
