The Loyola Marymount University Lions men's soccer team (0-1-0) will look for their first win of the year as they continue their season-long five game homestand with matches against Oral Roberts and Loyola-Chicago this weekend.
Entering the weekend, the pair of
Bastien Oberli and
Jack Sauls rank in the the top 20 in the country in assists per game and goals per game. Oberli is 11
thin the country in assists per game and Sauls is 16
thin goals per game. Both Lions will look to continue their hot starts when the Golden Eagles and Ramblers pay a visit.
The Lions will take on ORU for the third time in team history with LMU winning the previous two matches. The last time the Lions took on ORU was Sept. 1, 2011 when LMU walked away with a 2-0 victory in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This will be the first time ORU will play at Sullivan Field.
Following their game against the Golden Eagles the Lions will get one day off before heading back to the pitch to take on the Ramblers. The Lions were set to take on the Ramblers last season in Chicago but had their game cancelled due to inclement weather. Both teams got to the 20-minute mark prior to game time before the weather hit, forcing the delay and ultimately resulting in a cancellation.
LMU is 2-0 against Loyola-Chicago with their last win coming in the form of a 1-0 overtime victory on Sept. 3, 2000. The trip to Sullivan Field will be the first one for the Ramblers as the Lions will play host to visitors over the weekend that haven't played at Sullivan Field.
