LOS ANGELES – The Loyola Marymount University volleyball team (3-3) will hit the road for the third straight weekend to compete at the Nebraska Tournament, in Lincoln, Neb. where the team will take on University of Denver, High Point University and No. 2 Nebraska. 
 
The Lions will head into this weekend's tournaments coming off of a 1-2 weekend, where the team easily swept Abilene Christian University 3-0, but fell to Rice University 3-1 in both matches. 
 
Savannah Slattery and Tess Reid were named to the Rice Adidas Invitational All-Tournament Team. Slattery tallied up 31 kills over the weekend, while Reid marked her season high in assists against Rice with 45, which gave her a weekend total of 114. 
 
Slattery now ranks among only a handful of Lions to have over 1,000 career kills. After the weekend, the senior now has 1,049. 
 
Reid ranks in the top 100 players in the nation in assists per set, averaging 9.52, putting LMU at No. 36 in the nation in assists per set. 
 
The Lions will open up the tournament against Denver (5-1) on Friday at 9:00 AM, and will conclude the day against High Point University (2-5) at 4:00 PM. LMU will pick back up play on Saturday, as the team will take on Nebraska (4-0). 
 
This will be just the second time that the Lions have taken on Denver. In their last meeting in 2016, the Lions fell to the Denver Boones 3-1. The Lions are 1-0 against High Point with their last meeting being a 3-1 victory in 2012. LMU has not met with Nebraska since 1998 and is 0-3 with the Cornhuskers.
