The Loyola Marymount University men's soccer team is set to kick off the 2019 season tonight at 7:00 p.m. when the No. 16 Virginia Tech Hokies pay a visit to Sullivan Field for the first of five straight home games for LMU.
The Lions are coming off a productive exhibition match last weekend against UCSB and are poised to make a run in the West Coast Conference this upcoming season.

Jack Sauls returns this fall and was the Lions second-leading goal scorer from a year ago along with
CJ Neville who was right behind him at third in goals scored.
The offseason brought 11 new faces to the men's soccer program in addition to the Lions returning eight players who started at least six games in 2018.
The Lions went 6-12 in 2018 and 3-4 in WCC play. Tonight's matchup boasts a familiar face in midfielder
Gaetan Roux, who played for the Hokies from 2016-18. His lone goal came in overtime at North Carolina State in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament in 2017.

The Lions are 6-2-2 in their last 10 season openers.
The WCC released their preseason conference rankings and the Lions received 13 points overall. Saint Mary's topped the preseason poll followed by Portland and San Diego.
LMU will be giving away 250 foam paws for fans in attendance.
