Men's Water Polo

Two Home Tournaments Highlight LMU Men’s Water Polo Schedule

Full Schedule

LOS ANGELES – The 2019 men's water polo schedule has been announced by Head Coach John Loughran, which marks his 23rd season running the LMU program.

The Lions open the season in La Jolla for the annual Triton Invitational on Sept. 7-8.

The team will make their home debut as part of a full day of games at the WWPA/GCC Challenge on Sept. 14. LMU opens the tournament against Pepperdine at 10:00 a.m. and close out the four-game schedule against UC Irvine at 4:20 p.m., with a pair of neutral games in between.

The first conference game is set for the following week as LMU travels to Fresno Pacific for a noon game on Sept. 21.

A midweek trip back down to UC San Diego on Sept. 25 to play under the lights will lead into the So Cal Invitational from Sept. 27-29, which LMU and UCLA are co-hosting.

The So Cal Invitational kicks off a homestand that features three-straight games to open October. Following a home non-conference game on Oct. 6 against Navy, Western Water Polo Association continues with Burns games against UC San Diego and Santa Clara on Oct. 12 and 17, respectively.

The remainder of the month will be spent away from the Bluff, with Santa Clara's Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament being bookended by WWPA games at Air Force on Oct. 19 and at Cal Baptist on Oct. 31.

The Lions close out the regular season with four November home games, beginning with the final two conference games against Concordia and UC Davis on Nov. 2 then Nov. 7. The final two home games will be played Nov. 9 against Occidental and then Nov. 14 against Long Beach State prior to the conference tournament

Cal Baptist hosts this year's WWPA Championships in Riverside from Nov. 22-24. Matchups will be determined based on seeding.
