LOS ANGELES, Calif., -- The Loyola Marymount softball team heads to Fort Collins, Colo. to participate in the National Invitational Softball Championship for the second consecutive year and are looking to defend their title.
The Lions head to Fort Collins after going 4-1 at the NISC Regionals in Reno, Nev., where the team shutout UC Riverside 10-0, beat Fresno State 8-5 and beat University of Nevada twice to take home the win.
Several Lions put on a dominating performance in Reno, as
Delanie Wisz took home the tournament MVP title, as she posted a .462 batting average and scored three homeruns and had five RBIs.

Megan Dedrick and
Desiree Moreno were named to the All-Tournament Team.
The Lions will be joined by Iowa State, UT Arlington and Liberty University. LMU will open up the Championship series against Iowa State on Friday at 1:00 p.m.
The winner of Friday's game will play the winner of game two, which is between Liberty and UT Arlington on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., while the loser will play the loser of game two on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
The last time the Lions took on Iowa State was in 2012, where the Lions won both games, with the second game resulting in a run rule, after the Lions won 17-0. The Lions are 3-1 against the Cyclones all-time.
LMU last met with Liberty in 2017, where the Lions won 10-8. The Lions lead 3-0 all-time.
This will be the second year where UT Arlington and the Lions will be meeting at the NISC Championship. In 2018, LMU beat the Mavericks 10-5, leading to their NISC Championship title.
