LOS ANGELES, Calif., -- The Loyola Marymount women's tennis team (7-5, 2-2 WCC) swept Portland 5-0 at LMU Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.

LMU started the afternoon off in doubles play, where
Siobhan Anderson and Lillian Gabrielson picked up an easy 6-1 win over Emily Soares and Marika Elenova on court two.Â

Elvira Juravliova and
Camila Tumosa beat Laura Okazaki and Angela Schuster on court three 6-3, clinching the doubles point for the Lions.Â

Up 1-0, the Lions maintained their momentum going into singles play.
Eva Marie Voracek put the first singles point on the board for LMU, as she beat Raphaelle Leblanc on court two 6-2, 6-1. Juravliova beat Elenova on court four 6-3, 6-0 to give the Lions a 3-0 lead.Â

Anderson and Yessica De Lucas won their matches at the same time, as Anderson beat Soares 6-2, 6-1 on court three, and De Lucas beat Lourdes Ramalle on court tfive 6-3, 6-2, giving the Lions a 5-0 win.

The Lions will be back in action on Saturday to host Gonzaga at 11:00 a.m.Â
