PORTLAND, Ore., -- The Loyola Marymount men's tennis team (5-11, 3-1) fell to Portland 5-0 Saturday afternoon, snapping its undefeated conference record.
"Very disappointing loss today, as we had multiple opportunities to put matches away and clinch points," said head coach
Tom Lloyd. "We need to learn to rebound very quickly, since there is another opportunity awaiting us in less than 24 hours."
The Lions started the day off in doubles play, where the No. 32 doubles tandem of
Nick Borchenko and
Diego Nava fell to Eleftherios Neos and Sema Pankin on court one 6-4.
Ryan Brown and
Ethan Prost fell to Leo Hibi and Issa Yoshida on court three 6-3, clinching the doubles point for the Pilots.
Down 1-0 headed into singles play, Nava was defeated by Tom Hann on court three, while Borchenko was defeated by Nicklas Oberg on court two, 6-3.

Lukas Moenter pushed Sema Pankin to three sets on court one, but ended up falling 6-3, 3-6, 7-6, clinching the match for Portland.
Lucas Moreno was beat by Neos on court four, 6-1, 6-4, giving Portland its fifth point. The other courts were abandoned.
The Lions will be back in action on Saturday to take on Gonzaga at 1:00 p.m. in Spokane, Wash.
