LOS ANGELES, Calif., -- The Loyola Marymount softball team will host its last series of the season this weekend, as the Lions will play Saint Mary's in a three-game series on Saturday and Sunday.
The Lions will use Sunday's game to honor seniors
Hannah Bandimere and
Irma Sanchez.
The team will head into this weekend's games second in the West Coast Conference with a 6-3 record, while the Gaels are 4-2 in conference.
LMU continues to lead the conference in earned run average, with a team total of 2.47, still the only WCC team under 3.0.
The Lions dominate the conference in individual pitching, as they hold down the top three spots. Bandimere sits at the No. 1 spot with a 2.13 ERA,
Samantha Manti is No. 2 with a 2.43 and
Linnay Wilson is third with 2.55.
Wilson was named the WCC Pitcher of the Week, after leading the Lions to two wins over Santa Clara.
Molly Grumbo is second in the conference in hits, with 47, while
Riley Ehlen is second in homeruns with six.
The Lions are second in conference batting average, with a .336. Grumbo is fifth with a batting average of .467, while
Megan Dedrick is seventh with .417.
The Lions will kick off their series against the Gaels on Saturday at noon, with the second game of the day to follow at 2:30.
The Lions will pick back up on Sunday for Senior Day at noon.
