LOS ANGELES, Calif., -- The Loyola Marymount men's tennis team is set to participate in the West Coast Conference Tennis Championships this week in Claremont, Calif.
The Lions will head to the Conference Championships coming off of a 4-0 sweep over San Francisco. The Lions have been led by
Lukas Moenter, who just moved up to the No. 117 ranking. The senior has been holding down the No. 1 spot for the Lions and was named to the All-WCC First Team Singles after posting a 4-1 conference campaign.
The No. 68 doubles tandem of
Nick Borchenko and
Diego Nava led the Lions at the No. 1 spot in doubles play and are 7-3 on the season and 2-2 in conference play.
The Lions are seeded fourth in the conference after going 5-4 in conference play, which includes an upset over No. 38 BYU.
LMU will kick off the Conference Championship on Thursday against No. 5 Pepperdine. The Lions beat the Waves 4-3 in their conference opener.
The winner of this match will advance to the semifinals on Friday to take on No. 1 San Diego.
