LOS ANGELES, Calif., -- They Loyola Marymount beach volleyball team will host the West Coast Conference Championships at Ocean Park in Santa Monica this Friday and Saturday.
The Lions will be hosting No. 7 Pacific, No. 1 Pepperdine, No. 6 Portland, No. 3 Saint Mary's, No. 4 San Francisco and No. 5 Santa Clara.
LMU earns its No. 2 seeding after putting together a 22-10 season, beating several ranked opponents.
Bo Culo and
Megan Nash have been holding down the No. 1 spot for the Lions and are 18-13 on the season.
Sara Kovac and
Jessie Prichard are 28-4 on the season from the No. 3 spot.
Last season, the Lions went 3-2 at the WCC Tournament, beating Santa Clara, San Francisco and Pacific. The team fell to Saint Mary's in twice.
The Lions have beat all WCC teams this season besides No. 5 Pepperdine, where the Lions lost 5-0. LMU took home first place at the WCC Mid-Season Tournament in Santa Cruz, where the Lions went 4-0 on the weekend.
LMU will kick off the tournament against No. 7 Pacific at 10:30 on Friday, the winner of that match will play at noon.
The tournament will pick back up on Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
