The Lions started the day off in doubles play, where the No. 56 doubles tandem of
Diego Nava and
Nick Borchenko fell to Andrew Gu and Robert Seby on court one 6-3.
Ethan Prost and
Lukas Moenter pushed Arthur Neuhaus and Jesus Barajas, but fell 7-5, while
Ryan Brown and
Austin Di Giulio put up a fight against Vasileios Iliopoulos and Kamran Khan, but fell 7-6.
Down 1-0 headed into singles play, Nava fell to Connor Garnett 6-2, 6-3 on court three, while
Lucas Moreno fell to Iliopoulos on court four 6-2, 6-2.
Di Giulio put the first point on the board for the Lions, as he beat Neuhaus on court six 6-4, 6-3.
Max Kaiser fell to Robert Seby on court five 6-3, 7-5, clinching the match for Santa Clara. The Lions will take on San Francisco in their last match of the season on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
