LOS ANGELES, Calif., The Loyola Marymount men's tennis team (4-10, 2-0) won its first home conference match of the season, as the team swept Saint Mary's 4-0 at LMU Tennis Center.
"We did just enough today to take care of business on the court," said head coach
Tom Lloyd. "We need to look to do a better job tomorrow and bring a little more intensity."
The Lions started off the match on a strong note, as
Thien Nguyen and
Lukas Moenter beat James Watt and Brian Lee on court two 6-4, while
Ryan Brown and
Ethan Prost beat Daniel Krutik and David Abfalter on court three 6-3, clinching the doubles point for the Lions.
Up 1-0,
Nick Borchenko put the first singles point on the board after he picked up a quick win over Abhishek Bastola on court two 6-2, 6-0.
Diego Nava beat Abfalter on court three 6-3, 6-3.
Austin Di Giulio clinched the match for the Lions for the second time over the week after he beat Boris Reckow on court six 6-3, 6-2, giving the Lions their second consecutive conference win this season.
The Lions will be back in action on Saturday to host Pacific at 1:00 p.m.
