LOS ANGELES, Calif., -- The Loyola Marymount men's tennis team will continue conference play this week, as the team is set to host Saint Mary's and Pacific Friday and Saturday.
The Lions (3-10, 1-0) won their first conference match of the season last week after beating Pepperdine 4-3, while the team also took on No. 17 UCLA on Tuesday, but fell 7-0.
The No. 40 doubles pair of
Nick Borchenko and
Diego Nava had their 6-0 winning streak snapped after playing UCLA. The 6-1 doubles tandem is still the highest ranked West Coast Conference doubles pair and holds down court one in doubles play.
Last season, the Lions beat Saint Mary's 5-2, while also beating Pacific 4-1 in the regular season, and then beating them again in the WCC Championships, 4-1.
LMU will play Saint Mary's in its first match of the weekend on Friday at noon. The Lions will pick back up play on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. against Pacific. This weekend's matches will be the first conference matches the Lions have hosted this season.
