LOS ANGELES, Calif., -- The Loyola Marymount men's tennis team will take a quick trip to play No. 17 UCLA on Tuesday. The match was recently added to the schedule to make up for the Lions' forced forfeit against ASU earlier this season due to a team illness.
The Lions (3-9, 1-0) will head into Tuesday's match coming off of a 4-3 win against Pepperdine over the weekend. The team came back from a 3-1 deficit to win the match in its conference opener.
The No. 40 doubles tandem of
Nick Borchenko and
Diego Nava picked up their sixth consecutive win of the season on Saturday and are the highest ranked West Coast Conference doubles pair.
Lukas Moenter holds down the No. 1 spot for the Lions and just jumped from the No. 125 spot up to the No. 86 spot. Moenter is 5-5 on the season and has taken on seven ranked opponents.
LMU met with then No. 6 UCLA last season and fell 2-5. The Bruins boast four top 100 singles players and the No. 36 doubles tandem.
The Lions will take on the Bruins Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.
