LOS ANGELES, Calif., -- The Loyola Marymount softball team (17-11) will play seven games this week, with the first five being hosted at Smith Field to continue the Lions' home stand.
The Lions will host this week's games after going 3-2 at the LMU Tournament, where the Lions had wins over UC Santa Barbara, Cal Poly and Dartmouth. The Lions' 6-0 win over Dartmouth was the team's fifth shutout of the season.
LMU is still holding down the No. 1 spot in the West Coast Conference and is the only team with a winning record.
Pitcher
Hannah Bandimere (9-7) is ranked No. 80 in the nation in earned run average, as she has 1.65 on the season and has pitched 89 innings, contributing to the team's No. 43 ranking, with a 2.29 ERA.
Samantha Manti is 6-4 on the season, while
Linnay Wilson is 2-0.
LMU boasts the WCC's Player of the Week,
Megan Dedrick. The sophomore earned the honors after posting a .421 batting average, three runs and two RBIs.
Molly Grumbo is leading the team in runs with 14, while
Riley Ehlen is leading the team in homeruns and RBIs with four and 16.
The Lions will kick off the week of games on Tuesday against Harvard (6-8) and No. 24 Boise State (19-4). LMU is 6-5 against Harvard and last met with the Crimson in 2018, where the Lions fell 8-2.
The Lions met with Boise State earlier this season, where the team pushed the Broncos to 10 innings, but fell 9-8 and are 2-5 against Boise State all-time.
A game between Boise State and Harvard will be played Tuesday morning at 10 before the Lions take the field. LMU will play its first game against Harvard at 11:30 a.m., with a game against Boise State at 3:00 p.m. to follow.
The Lions will pick back up on Thursday and Friday to host Cal State Fullerton in a three-game series, which will end LMU's 18-game homestand. The Lions will continue their week of play against Long Beach State in Long Beach, Calif.
