LOS ANGELES, Calif., -- The Loyola Marymount softball team (12-9) continues its home-stand, as the team will host Boston University in a double-header on Tuesday.
The Lions will go into this Tuesday's game coming off a split weekend from the LMU Tournament, as the team shutout Western Carolina 8-0 and beat New Mexico 6-2 and a win over South Dakota earlier in the week.
The Lions were led by pitcher
Hannah Bandimere, who was named the West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week after throwing her first career no-hitter last week against Western Carolina. Bandimere ranks in the top 100 pitchers in ERA with 1.59.
Andrea Gonzalez led the Lions in runs and RBI last week with four and eight, while
Irma Sanchez went .400 at the plate, leading the Lions to their three wins.
LMU ranks in the top 100 in doubles per game, averaging .35 a game and is still the only WCC team with a winning record.
Molly Grumbo leads the team in runs on the season with 11, which includes three homeruns, while
Riley Ehlen has four homeruns and six total runs.
The Lions are 3-1 against the Terriers and last met in 2017 when they split with a 6-2 win and a 3-1 loss. Boston University is 11-7 on the season and was just shut out by No. 2 UCLA 12-0.
The first pitch of the first game will be at noon on Tuesday, with the second game to start at 2:30 p.m.
