LOS ANGELES – Loyola Marymount University women's water polo (2-2) returns to the pool this weekend for their third tournament in as many weeks. The 16-team, two-day UCSD Triton Invitational begins for the Lions with a matchup against 16th-ranked Long Beach State Saturday morning at 9:50 a.m.

LMU went 3-1 in last year's Triton Invite, closing the tournament with three consecutive wins and knocking off a pair of top-13 teams in the process. These two teams last faced each other in the 2017 edition of the same tournament.

Of the 16 teams competing, 13 are currently ranked in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Top 25. The participating teams include Arizona State, Cal State East Bay, CSUN, Long Beach State, LMU, Marist, Michigan, Pomona-Pitzer, San Diego State, Santa Clara, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UCLA, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, and USC.

The Lions will be the second game of the day from Canyonview Pool on Saturday morning, following No. 1 USC vs. Pomona-Pitzer at 8:30 a.m. The two winners will then play at 3:10 p.m. and the two losing teams will precede that contest at 1:50 p.m.

Single day tickets are available at the gate at a rate of $15 per day. Parking is free on Saturday and Sunday.
