LOS ANGELES, Calif., -- The Loyola Marymount softball team will host San Diego State University in its home-opener Tuesday afternoon.
Tuesday's game against the Aztecs will be the Lions first home game of the season, as their first scheduled home-opener against Ole Miss was rained out.
The Lions (6-5) are looking to bounce back from a tough weekend against Sac State, as the team went 0-3 in the series.
Despite the losses, the Lions had a strong showing from freshman
Kaley Robinson, as she batted .429, while leading the team in RBIs with two and posting one run.
Linnay Wilson (0-0) pitched five innings against the Hornets and allowed two runs, giving her a 1.80 earned run average on the weekend, totaling a 2.25 ERA on the season.
Hannah Bandimere (4-3) has a 2.33 ERA on the season, while
Samantha Manti (2-2) has a 3.46.
Riley Ehlen is leading the Lions in RBIs with six, while
Maddison Flores has five.
Hailey Jackson,
Molly Grumbo all lead the Lions in runs, as they all have five a piece on the season.
The Lions are 2-20 against San Diego State all-time. The last time the two teams met was in 2005, while the last win the Lions had over the Aztecs was in 1997.
The first pitch will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Smith Field.
