LOS ANGELES, Calif., -- The Loyola Marymount women's basketball team returns home with a four-game winning streak to host PCH Rival Pepperdine (16-8, 9-4) on Friday. 
 
The Lions (15-10, 8-5) will go into Friday's game with a recent road sweep, as the team beat Santa Clara last Thursday 69-60, and USF on Saturday 73-66. LMU's win over USF included six rebounds from Bree Alford, making her LMU's All-Time Leader in Rebounds with a career total of 944. 
 
Cierra Belvin and Chelsey Gipson also set highs against USF, as Belvin set her career high in points with 15, while Gipson set her career high in rebounds with seven. 
 
Along with Belvin, Gipson and Jasmine Jones led the team in points, as Gipson had 27, giving her a total of 52 on the weekend, while Jones had 16, giving her a total of 31 on the week. 
 
After earning 52 points and a total of 10 rebounds against Santa Clara and USF, Gipson was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week, the first of her career. The sophomore moved up from the No. 5 spot to the No. 2 spot in the conference for scoring, as she averages 17.1 a game. She also holds down the No. 1 spot in three-point field goals made, averaging 2.4 a game. 
 
Jones moved up from the No. 17 spot to the No. 16 spot, averaging 12 points a game. Alford still leads the conference in rebounds, averaging 9.7 a game, while Velasco is third in the conference in assists, averaging 4.7 a game. 
 
The Lions are second in the conference in conference game assists, as well as conference game steals, averaging 16.5 per game and 9.8 per game. 
 
LMU faces Pepperdine for the second time this season. In the teams' last meeting in Malibu, Calif., LMU finished the fourth quarter tied at 71-71, pushing to an overtime where they fell 95-86. The Lions are looking to break the Waves' five-game winning streak; the team's last loss was against Pacific. 
 
Tip-off will be on Friday at 7 p.m. in Gersten Pavilion.
