Decade Closes Out Saturday with Lions Hosting Morgan State

LOS ANGELES - LMU men's basketball (6-7) concludes the non-conference portion of the schedule this Saturday night with the second leg of a Gersten Pavilion double header. The Lions host Morgan State (5-8) for the second time in the last four seasons with game time scheduled for 7:00 pm on Dec. 28.

LMU has won four straight games at Gersten Pavilion, including a come-from-behind win over Cal State Fullerton on Dec. 22. Morgan State has been off for nearly half a month, having not played since a 24-point win over Chestnut Hill College on Dec. 16.

A large portion of Morgan State's scoring is from the line. The Bears rank 30th in the country in free throw attempts. They also rank at the top of their conference in total rebounds and total blocks, with Troy Baxter leading the team at 6.4 boards per game and 1.8 blocks per contest.

Eli Scott continues to get to the line for LMU. The junior ranks eighth nationally with 85 free throw attempts this season.

The two teams closed out the non-conference portion of the schedule in 2016 as well. LMU beat Morgan State by 21 that season after allowing the Bears to score just 49 points. The Lions held Cal State Fullerton to 46 points last week.

The game will stream live on The WCC Network and Watch Stadium. Live Stats will be run through Statbroadcast. The LMU women's team will host their first West Coast Conference game of the season earlier in the day, with a 2 p.m. contest scheduled against BYU.
