PROVO, Utah – West Coast Conference champion BYU remained undefeated on the regular season after handing LMU women's soccer a season-ending loss. The #4 Cougars (18-0-1, 8-0-1 WCC) remained perfect at home this season after handing the Lions an 8-1 loss.
The action started right away, with three goals finding the back of the net in the first six and a half minutes. After BYU scored in the fourth and fifth minutes,
Sydney Schultz put LMU on the board with an unassisted goal at the 6:34 mark.
The 2-1 deficit stood until the 18
th minute when the Cougar attack scored their first of three goals over an eight-minute span. BYU carried a 5-1 lead into intermission.
BYU added three unanswered goals after halftime to finish the game with an 8-1 advantage.
LMU put up 12 shots on the night, with eight coming in the first half. Comparatively, BYU totaled 30 shots.

Sadie Kenny and
Lee Erickson played in net for the Lions. Kenny started the game and played just over 27 minutes and recorded three saves.
Lee Erickson came in as a substitute and recorded seven saves over the final hour-plus.
The result puts a cap on LMU's 2019 season with a final record of 4-12-3 and 3-5-1 in conference.
