WCC Recognizes Two from LMU Women’s Soccer with Season Awards

WCC Release

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has revealed the 2019 Women's Soccer All-Conference and All-Freshmen teams on Tuesday afternoon. Two members of this year's team received recognition as voted on by the league's head coaches. Ali King has been named to the Second Team All-Conference team and Gabriella Marchall has earned WCC All-Freshman team recognition.

In her senior season, King played all 19 games, making 13 starts. As a defender, King set career bests with three goals, six points, and nine shots. Her scoring totals in 2019 were higher than her first three seasons combined. Two of King's goals came in conference play, with the third coming on opening day.

A true freshman, Gabriella Marchall found a home on LMU's back line as a key piece to the defense. Marchall started all 17 games she played in, logging 1469 minutes, which ranks second on the team by just 12 minutes. Marchall scored the opening goal in the WCC win over Pacific on Oct. 5.

This is the sixth consecutive season that one of Head Coach Michelle Myers' freshman has been named to the All-Freshman team and LMU has had a member of one of the WCC All-Conference teams every season since the program began in 1993.
